Free Search for 3 persons

I will do a free AKA "Pro Bono" search for (3) individuals to search for (1) person. The next three folks who contact me will receive this search for FREE!!!!

The catch? All I ask is for a referral. Costs you nothing but a few moments of your time.

Why am I doing this? I've helped many folks and every once in a while I will help those who need it for no charge. I found my first adoption client this way.

I've also recently located cousins who I have not seen in 30 years. We are planning a reunion in September. So since I'm in a reuniting mood I thought I would share.........

It will go fast so don't delay in contacting me!!!

How I got started in genealogy?

My aunt, Betty Trahan Pourciau (1939-1996), had published her book, "St. Martin Parish History" in 1985. She was my mother's oldest sister and had done extensive research on my mother's side of the family. I came to her in 1987 asking her to teach me how to do the research for my father's side of the family.

I had done a school project for a family tree in 3rd grade and had kept it. Most of the information for the family tree had came from interviews with my dad and my grandparents. I was glad I had the information that I did because when I started doing research 3 of 4 of my grandparents were deceased. I showed my aunt the information I had.

We started with my great grandparents. I learned how to use Father Hebert's Catholic church records and finding my father's father's side was quite easy. I traced them back 7 generations before hitting a brick wall. I'm still working on tracing them back beyond 1805 when he married an Acadian girl in Louisiana.

I hit another brick wall when it came to my father's mother's side. I found her mother's information and learned that my parents were 3rd cousins related through the Mires. Her father was difficult, she only knew him by his nickname, Velie Leblanc. It took me several years to locate his family. I'll go into more detail later how I overcame the brick wall of a relative known by nickname only.

* There is a “No find / No fee” on this service. This means if we do not find the person you are looking for then the service is FREE to you.
** An assisted search or research is where the client does the work of contacting parties by phone, mail or email. The client also pays all postage and fees (including document requests). We only provide information on source material (for example where to look for the information you are seeking.) This saves the researcher time and money!

Please use the form to contact us. We will then contact you to best options to accomplish your desired results. Once we understand your project, we will submit an engagement letter to you outlining our services. Upon receipt of your acceptance of the engagement and your payment or retainer, we will begin our research. Most adoption searches can be completed in 30 days or less. We will give you an estimated completion time frame and keep you informed of our progress.

You may choose to pay by PayPal or credit card. Other arrangements to pay can be made on a case-by-case basis. Out of pocket fees including but not limited to document fees, photocopying, postage, microfilm or microfiche rental, and long distance, without prior approval not to exceed $75 will be billed at the end of the project and are due upon receipt. In the event out-of-pocket fees will exceed $75, we will notify you and obtain approval.

Please note that if research has already been done on the person you are searching for it may take additional time to plan the course of action so the efforts are not duplicated.

I look forward to helping you connect the missing pieces to your past!
